About this scheme
The AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme provides ₹50,000 per year to students with disabilities (minimum 40% disability certification from a government-recognised medical authority) pursuing technical education at AICTE-approved institutions. The scholarship covers college fees, computer, books, stationery, equipment, and software for up to 4 years (degree programmes) or 3 years (lateral-entry students). Annual family income must be below ₹8,00,000. Applications are submitted and disbursed through the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) via Direct Benefit Transfer. The scheme aims to remove financial barriers for differently-abled students pursuing engineering, technology, pharmacy, architecture, and allied technical disciplines, ensuring equal access to quality technical education.
Eligibility
- Disability: Disability of at least 40%, certified by a competent government-recognised medical authority
- Institution: Admission in an AICTE-approved college or university
- Annual family income: Below ₹8,00,000 per annum — a valid income certificate issued by the state / UT government is required
Benefits
- ₹50,000 per annum for every year of study
- Maximum 4 years for students admitted to the first year of a degree programme
- Maximum 3 years for students admitted via lateral entry to the second year
- Covers college fee, computer, books, stationery, equipment, and software
- Disbursed annually through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) via the National Scholarship Portal
