Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship – Punjab
Up to ₹20,000 per year post-matric scholarship for SC/BC/OBC students in Punjab, covering Class 11 through PhD with a ₹25,000 one-time merit award and disability allowances.
About this scheme
The Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship is a Punjab state scheme under the Department of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. It supports SC students (income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh) and BC/OBC students (income ≤ ₹10 lakh) for post-matric education from Class 11 through PhD.
Eligibility
- Domicile: Must have a Punjab domicile
- Category: Must belong to the SC or BC/OBC category as recognised by the Punjab state government
- Income (SC): SC candidates: Annual family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000
- Income (BC/OBC): BC/OBC candidates: Annual family income must not exceed ₹10,00,000
- Course level: Must be enrolled in a recognised institution for post-matric education (Class 11 onwards) including diplomas, UG, PG, and PhD programmes
- Other scholarships: Must not be holding any other scholarship simultaneously
Benefits
- Up to ₹20,000 per year towards educational expenses
- ₹25,000 one-time exceptional merit award on completion of degree
- Transport allowance for students with disabilities: ₹160 per month
- Escort fee for students with disabilities: ₹160 per month
- Special pay for students with disabilities: ₹160 per month
- Scholarship credited directly to the student's bank account via DBT
