SEBC Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme – Gujarat

About this scheme

The SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme is a Gujarat state government initiative providing financial support to OBC/SEBC students from Gujarat for post-matric education. The scheme covers a maintenance allowance that varies by course level and hosteller/day-scholar status, plus tuition fee reimbursement up to state-notified ceilings. Applications are managed through the Digital Gujarat portal.

Eligibility

• Residence: Permanent resident (domicile) of Gujarat
• Caste category: Must belong to the Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC/OBC) as per Gujarat’s list
• Education level: Enrolled in a recognised institution for post-matric education (Class 11 and above, including diploma, UG, and PG)
• Annual family income (standard): ≤ ₹2,50,000 for standard post-matric scholarship
• Annual family income (higher rate): Up to ₹6,00,000 for higher rate scholarship
• Exclusion: Must not hold another scholarship simultaneously

Benefits

• Day scholars — maintenance allowance per month: Class 11–12 ₹150, Degree/Diploma ₹300, Professional/Technical ₹700
• Hostellers — maintenance allowance per month: Class 11–12 ₹350, Degree/Diploma ₹700, Professional/Technical ₹1,200
• Tuition fee reimbursement (actual fees up to state-notified ceilings)
• Disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) through the Digital Gujarat portal
